MOTORISTS have been warned there could be delays around one of the county's leading innovation centres today.
The county council is leading £1.5m work to upgrade the junction off Thomson Avenue in Harwell with new traffic signals.
The work is expected to be done by January 2020.
It will provide more capacity for planned future housing and support jobs at the Harwell Campus and the wider Science Vale area.
Two-way lights will be in place while the improvement work is done. They will be manually controlled from 7am until 7pm in an effort to reduce possible delays.
Yvonne Constance, the county council's cabinet member for environment, said: “The Harwell area is thriving and growing and I am pleased that Oxfordshire County Council is playing its part in providing the infrastructure that is needed.
“We have been successful in obtaining City Deal funding from the Department of Transport for a number of schemes in the Science Vale area.
“One of these is to improve access to Harwell Campus, which is a strategically important part of the Science Vale UK Enterprise Zone. The site is subject to continuing, ambitious development and improved access is required to complete these developments.”
Motorists are asked to plan their journeys, especially in peak times.
