PRIMARY school pupils belted out Abba hits as they performed at a public theatre.

Children from Willowcroft Community School in Didcot held their end of year show Mamma Mia at the Cornerstone Theatre.

Amanda Doy, deputy headteacher, said: "It was a stunning event and we have been lucky enough to perform on stage there for the past three years as part of Willowcrofts 12 Promises.

"As a school we promise the children that before they leave us they will have completed these promises, they include activities such as visiting the beach, lighting a fire and cooking for other people.

"We believe in providing enriching experiences that inspire children and equip them for the challenges of the future."

Year 6 leavers took the stage for the musical last month, while Year 5 children joined them as the choir.

The school has thanked the theatre for helping with the ticketing, lighting and giving children a backstage experience 'they won't forget.'
