A VEHICLE fire closed lanes on the M40 in the second incident on the same stretch this morning.
Emergency services and traffic officers were at the scene on the hard shoulder between junctions 9 and 8A, with Highways England tweeting that an unconfirmed number of 'lanes are closed'.
The incident caused short delays on the southbound side near Wheatley.

Earlier this morning, a two-vehicle crash closed a lane and caused delays of up to 25 minutes towards London.
Traffic was reportedly held due to one vehicle being stuck in the central reservation.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were approached for comment, while South Central Ambulance Service were not at the scene.
