BURGLARS have smashed their way into Oxfordshire homes to steal jewellery and 'large' sums of cash.

Thames Valley Police is linking a spate of break-ins in the county as well as in neighbouring Berkshire, and believes the perpetrators are men who are using a black Audi A3 to travel to different locations.

At least six burglaries have been linked so far and police want to speak to the men pictured above, saying they could have 'vital' information.

The force said between 9am and 5.30pm on Friday, June 7, homes were burgled in Knights Way, Emmer Green (Berkshire), Lydsee Gate in Wantage and Hurst Rise Road in Botley.

A 'quantity of jewellery and cash was stolen' in the break-ins, officers said.

Between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, June 8, a house on Chinnor High Street was also broken into, and jewellery was stolen.

Between 2.45pm and 3.15pm on Monday, June 10, offenders forced their way into a property in Radley Road, Abingdon.

They gained entry by smashing the glass of a side door and a large quantity of cash was stolen and police issued an earlier appeal after one of the burglars hit the victim as she confronted them.

At around 12.45pm on Tuesday, June 12, three men were disturbed while in the garden of a property in Chazey Road, Caversham Heights (Berkshire).

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Francesca Jarvis, based at Abingdon police station said: "We believe the offenders are targeting properties to steal jewellery and cash and that they may be using a black Audi A3 to travel to different locations.

"I am appealing for anyone who may have been in the areas at the time of these incidents and may have information, or who recognise the vehicle described to contact Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting reference 43190174793 or make a report online.
