TO CELEBRATE Father's Day, we asked readers from across the county to nominate Dads that deserve special recognition - and you did not disappoint.

From a step-father who treated the kids like his own, to a Dad who donated his kidney to save his daughter, here are some of our favourite Oxfordshire super-Dads, who have gone above and beyond.

"He is the best Dad and grandad in the world."

Keith Rose, 59, has also been praised by his step-daughter as her 'hero'.

Megan Rose, 20, explained: "My step-Dad has been in my life since I was five-years-old.

"He’s always treated me and my siblings like his own and always loved us the way a father should. Our biological Dad walked out on us when I was three (but) as soon as we met Keith he changed our whole life, we finally knew what a father really is. He stepped up and took us on when he didn’t have too."

Mr Rose is now a full-time carer for Megan's Mum.

She continued: "He is an amazing man... We’ve had a lot thrown at us as a family, he could have walked away at any point but instead he stayed and supported up through all the bad times. He has helped our little family so much through the years, to us he isn’t our 'step-Dad”, he’s our Dad and we couldn’t be any prouder to have him in our life.

"He deserves the whole world, this man has done so much for our family it’s unbelievable."

Elsewhere, even a two-year-old paid tribute to her Dad, Danny Rayson.
