A CANCER support centre is hosting a Wellness Day in a bid to help businesses support staff who may have cancer or who are caring for someone with the condition.

Organised by The Hummingbird Centre, the event will take employers and employees through a series of workshops aimed at giving an insight into how they can help staff.

Founder of Hummingbird, Mechelle Harris, said: “Through our work at the Hummingbird Centre we know people want to return to work because it’s a way of returning some normality and stability to their lives.

“The aim of this course is to make employers aware of how they can support staff who either have cancer, or whom are caring for someone with cancer, take this step smoothly.”

You can register for the open day, which is taking place at Stratton Court Barn on Monday, June 24 from 9.30am.

It is open to employers and employees and the suggested minimum donation is £25. To sign up go to thehummingbirdcentre.org.uk.
