RISKS posed by 'smart toys' and devices will be the hot topic for a free event in Oxford tomorrow.

Oxford Internet Institute is hosting a discussion about the security and privacy risks 'connected' toys can hold.

Deputy director Vicki Nash said: "Using talking teddies to send a personalised message or a virtual hug might seem like a great way of showing your child love, but it’s often hard to understand how much data these devices capture and how secure it is."

The event runs from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at L3 Andrew Wiles Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter.
