Members returned on Sunday morning for mixed hockey games, before the junior section celebrated their very own birthday, with more than 400 people attending the Wildcats’ 25th anniversary awards.
Wallingford’s vice chairman Mike Latham said: “It was a truly memorable weekend for our club.
“The games during the day epitomise what we are about – seriously fun hockey – and the celebrations in the evening were fantastic.
“To mark our 125th anniversary in such style is a testament to our hard-working volunteers and it was great to share the occasion with so many members of our hockey family.”
The club have been celebrating their birthday throughout the year.
Records show Wallingford’s first game took place on St John’s Paddocks against Oxford University alumni at the beginning of 1894.
That match was marked with a Vice Presidents’ Day on January 19, which included a special fixture between the club’s ladies 2nd team and Oxford University 3rd.
