LONDON marathon runners can travel for free on the Oxford Tube this weekend.

Participants can take advantage of the offer by showing their race number, certificate or badge to a driver as they board the coach on Saturday or Sunday.

The Oxford Tube runs up to every 12 minutes for 24 hours a day, with free travel only valid to get to and from the race.

Chris Coleman, managing director of Stagecoach in Oxfordshire and Oxford Tube said: “We appreciate the last thing the racers want is any hassle when travelling to the capital for the marathon.

"We therefore want to show our support for London Marathon runners in Oxfordshire by providing them with an easy and comfortable way to get to and from London for the race for free.

"We’d like to wish everyone from Oxfordshire all the best for the race - we’ll certainly be watching.”

Oxford Tube advises London Marathon runners using its service to allow plenty of time to get to the start line. Runners can get off the coach at London Victoria, and take the Circle or District Line to Cannon Street then Southeastern Rail to Greenwich.
