AN annual exhibition has returned to the Oxfordshire Museum to give art lovers an Easter treat.
The Oxford Art Society Members’ Exhibition features a huge variety of artwork from different genres, in the Woodstock venue's Garden Gallery.
Curated by Harriet Eagle, the exhibition offers up stone carvings to water colours in an enormous range of on sale artwork - which the society says illustrates its 'commitment to excellence and originality'.
Society chair Lucy Stopford said: "(There is) an impressive collection of landscapes and still life studies in the exhibition this year and a particularly strong selection of portraits on show."
Opening the event was Dr Jon Whiteley, Senior Curator of Western Art at the Ashmolean Museum and President of the Oxford Art Society Associates.
Dr Whiteley’s choice for this year's Broad Canvas Prize was ‘Early March’ by printmaker Jenny Lines.
Meanwhile, the Honorary Members’ Prize was awarded to Patricia Drew for her print ‘Artist in the Jungle’.
The exhibit is open from 10am to 5pm until Sunday, April 28. (closed Mondays and Easter Sunday, open Easter Monday).
Entrance is free.
