Following your report (April 12) on pavement parking, I would like to endorse the nuisance it causes.
As a pavement mobility scooter user I have to contend with this on top of the difficulties of the very bad state of Oxford pavements and the badly-parked bicycles (especially the dockless ones) and many wheelie bins.
The small wheels of mobility scooters don't provide a comfortable ride at the best of times, but they do allow me and other scooter users a certain amount of independence for shopping etc.
Often I use the west side of Woodstock Road and find the uneven paving immediately south of Observatory Street and much of St Giles particularly bad.
The lack of dropped kerbs at sides roads, such as in Squitchey Lane, is another problem.
On the positive side, the workmen on Headley Way and Marston Ferry Road have been most helpful to me in negotiating their ever-changing roadworks.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Ann Lemmon
