CHOCOLATE eggs donated by generous shoppers will give children helped by Oxford charities a sweet treat this Easter.

Templars Square is asking the community to nominate local children’s charities who should receive this year’s Easter egg donations via the Cowley shopping centre's Facebook page

The children's charities with the most nominations will receive a proportion of the Easter eggs that are donated by the public and local businesses over the next two weeks.

Eggs will be delivered to the good causes of choice during Easter week, starting on Monday, just in time for Easter weekend.

Last year, Templars Square collected more than 330 chocolate eggs and delivered them to five local charities - Ronald MacDonald House, The Parasol Project, Ark T, Rosehill Youth Club and Donnington House.

Owen Acland, Templars Square centre manager, said: "We’re hoping we can beat last year’s record of over 330 eggs.

"We’d love all our tenants to get involved to make it a real team effort to help the local charities in our community."

He added: “As a local shopping centre we want to help our community when we can and Easter is an opportunity for us to do that.

"We’re delighted that we’re helping local children’s charities celebrate the occasion in the best way they can with those who are experiencing a difficult time.”

The public can donate Easter eggs until Monday by dropping them off at the shopping centre's management office or contacting Suzanne Tanner on 01865 748864. For more information visit templarssquare.com.
