MORE than 520 people attended Oxfordshire's first conference designed to raise awareness of children and young people's mental health.

The Youth in Mind conference saw the NHS, local councils and charities come together at the King's Centre on Wednesday to offer exhibition stands, youth-led training and talks from both local and national experts.

The event was organised by mental health charity Oxfordshire Mind and Oxfordshire Youth, a charity offering support to young people across the county.

Oxfordshire Mind CEO Dan Knowles, and Oxfordshire Youth CEO Jodie Lloyd Jone, said the conference was the only event to give a comprehensive picture of the services and support on offer in the county.

They added: "The conference is a great example of the county coming together with third sector innovators, commissioners, statutory services, researchers and young people to build new and exciting links, network and work together for better mental health."
