WE MAY be losing an hour of sleep on Sunday as daylight saving time kicks in but we’ve had a spring in our step this week thanks to the veritable cornucopia of spring delights offered up by Camera Club.

From blooming blossoms and yellow blankets of daffodils to hopping hares and newborn lambs submissions were bursting with life.

Many members focused on the colourful floral displays on show at this time of year.

Some of our favourites included Io Nutz's close-up shot of vibrant red blossoms and a honey bee visiting a purple Grape Hyacinth by Allen Dannfald.

Bicester Advertiser:

We also loved Michael Hooper's stunning sunset snap at Oxford's South Park.

The setting sun casts a warm glow over a spectacular sea of golden trumpets.

A pair of images of dogs enjoying the spring sunshine, meanwhile, also stood out.

Bicester Advertiser:

Yoyo looks delighted to be among a field of yellow buttercups in Ian Jones' photograph, and Charlotte Hickman's canine companion Kiki looks equally exultant to be sunbathing surrounded by bluebells in Bagley Wood in her snap.

Another creature capture we enjoyed was Duncan Becker's image of a hare caught mid-jump.

Bicester Advertiser:

It is not just animals enjoying the warmer weather and we loved Luke Magoo's perfectly composed photograph of people watching a plane fly above as they stand amidst a blanket of buttercups.

Many submissions were full of bright colours and one of our favourite examples was rolling fields just outside of Leafield captured by Kevin James Bywater.

Bicester Advertiser:

The deep green of the grass contrasts with a vivid blue sky, with pretty cotton clouds drifting by above.

Sharing the shot on the Oxford Mail Camera Club Facebook page he wrote: "Given the lighting, it looked like I had merged into a Windows XP wallpaper. I've been here any number of times before, but today even the clouds were posing."
