SCYTHING volunteers are wanted to help at an Oxford nature reserve tomorrow.

The Wild Oxford team will be hacking at the overgrowth at Rivermead Nature Park in Rose Hill from 10am to 3pm.

The group will also be clearing low scrub to let new spring growth come up and encourage a variety of different plant species.

Project co-ordinators will bring all tools and equipment needed, though they have asked if anyone has a spare scythe lying around to bring it along.

Hot drinks and cakes or biscuits will also be provided.

Volunteers are advised to bring sturdy and waterproof boots, for wading through wet and boggy conditions.

Gardening gloves, waterproof coats and long-sleeved are all also advised.

The Wild Oxford project is run by the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust.

Newcomers are welcome to join the fun.
