THE owners of a historic country house estate just outside Oxford have sought permission to turn a Grade II-listed building into a house.
The Trustees of the Shotover Estate near Headington want to convert the 1870s stable block into a two-storey house.
The stable block was built by the home's second owner, Lt Col James Miller, a retired cavalry officer who purchased the estate in 1871 from its original owners the Tyrell family.

Because the building is listed, the owners have had to submit two planning separate applications to South Oxfordshire District Council.
Members of public can see the full plans online at southoxon.gov.uk using planning application reference number P19/S0036/LB and comment until February 21.
