IT is often billed as ‘the fastest growing town in Europe’, and building in Bicester is certainly matching that moniker at the moment.

But our delve into the archives has unearthed a different view of the market town over the past century.

These old black-and-whites reveal a smaller, simpler town, with steam trains pulling into the station, the Regal Cinema before it was demolished and the annual carnival being held on the sports ground.
