CYCLOCROSS: Fran Whyte impressed at the National Elite Championships at Cyclopark, Gravesend.
The Bicester Tri member finished 16th overall and tenth in the elite female category.
Whyte was delighted with her performance.
She said: “I far exceeded my expectations, as I was the oldest female and go up a category next year to race in the veterans.”
ATHLETICS: Bicester continued their strong showing in the junior events of the Chiltern Cross Country League.
Following the fourth round at Keysoe Equestrian Centre, Bedford, the under 15 boys and under 13 girls teams sit second in their respective Division 2 age groups.
Anna Jolliffe ran well in the girls event, finishing 17th overall and fifth among the runners from her division.
Edward Jolliffe led the way for Bicester in the under 15 boys race, coming sixth in Division 2 as he crossed 22nd.
In the under 17 boys race, Samuel Worfolk finished 26th.
Meanwhile, Alchester’s Jenny McBain was the second lady home at the Oundle 10k.

They hold a 16-point lead over White Horse B, who beat Highlanders by the same scoreline.
