AN INDEPENDENT pub group that owns three popular Oxfordshire boozers has been nominated for a slew of prestigious awards.
Oakman Inns runs The Crown & Thistle in Abingdon, Old Post Office in Wallingford and The Blue Boar in Witney.
It has been nominated for four Publican Awards – the largest celebration of the UK pub industry’s work. The company is up for Best Managed Pub Company, Best Pub Employer and Best Sustainable Pub Company.
It has also been nominated in the Best New Pub/Bar category for The Royal Foresters in Ascot, Berkshire.
Chief executive Peter Borg-Neal said: “Every year we aspire to win recognition for our work and, more importantly, of our team’s efforts in keeping our pubs among the best in the country. These nominations cover the pantheon of management and community endeavours which every one of my team undertakes every day."
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London in March.
