A BURGLARY involving a knife and a sex assault against a boy are among crimes police have been investigating this week.

Thames Valley Police has issued appeals for witnesses and information about a range of crimes in Oxfordshire, which have been rounded up below.

  • E-fit released after boy, 13, assaulted

Police released an E-fit after a teenage boy was sexually assaulted when he refused to go home with a man in Didcot.

Bicester Advertiser:

The force said the man approached the teenager and invited him back to his house.

When the 13-year-old refused, the offender touched him inappropriately over his clothes before the victim ran away.

The incident happened on October 22 at 6pm on Route 44, Didcot, near the bridge leading to Green Road.

  • Knife-point threat

Burglars threatened a victim with a knife during a break-in in South Oxfordshire.

The two men entered a property in Nuneham Courtenay, near Oxford, via the rear door on Thursday, October 18 at around 6pm.

They threatened the victim, who refused to hand over any items.

The offenders left the property and drove off in a 55 plate silver Ford Mondeo.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses and has released E-fits of two men.

  • House keys stolen

Burglars used a tool to hook keys out through a letterbox and raid a home in Headington.

The burglary happened in Stainfield Road sometime between 6pm on Friday and 5am on Saturday.

Two sets of keys and cash were stolen.

  • Was your vehicle ‘tampered with’?

Residents were told they could be harbouring forensic evidence relating to suspected thefts.

Police urged people in Botley to ring 101 if they thought their outbuildings or vehicles were ‘tampered with’ on Monday night.

The message was circulated by a police sergeant after a suspect was arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle on Hurst Rise Road.

Dog trackers sniffed out a trail and officers then found several more unlocked vehicles.

The sergeant said: “If you think your property has been tampered with please avoid touching areas with forensic potential.”

  • Police appeal after home break-in

Witnesses are being sought after a home was broken in to in Bicester.

Thames Valley Police tweeted out an appeal for information after thieves targeted the home in Fair Close between Southwold and Glory Farm.

The force said it happened on Tuesday shortly after 6pm.

  • Segway stolen

A segway and a bicycle were stolen from a Blackbird Leys shed on Wednesday.

Police say the Sandy Lane shed was broken into between 8am and 4pm.

The force say the offender/s ‘lifted a side gate off its hinges to gain access to the rear garden’ before stealing the two items.

  • Jewellery stolen

A collection of Royal Mint coins and jewellery were stolen during a burglary in Abingdon.

Thieves forced their way into a property in West Avenue by smashing through the back door some time between Saturday, November 17 and 1.54pm on Monday, November 26.

The burglars then ransacked the home before making off with the items.

  • Car stolen from street

A car was stolen from the street on a new housing estate.

The vehicle was snatched at some time between Thursday evening and Friday morning.

It was parked on Haydock Road in Bicester, part of the Kingsmere housing estate.

  • Tractor items stolen

GPS gadgets were stolen from tractors in Wantage on Friday night.

Farmers have been advised to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
