WHETHER it is a spectacular countryside view or a market bursting with Christmas cheer, Camera Club members have been submitting images of their favourite places this week.

For many there was no beating the pleasure found in a breathtaking view, with a plethora of outdoor shots.

We particularly enjoyed a spectacular snap of Sofi Dural looking out at the water below in Trolltunga, Norway.

The intrepid photographer took the picture by setting up a tripod on an opposite cliff.

Another nature image that stood out was Ian Marriott's shot of Verdon Gorge at sunrise.

The vivid colours and rolling mist against the silhouetted French river canyon makes for a dramatic and atmospheric image.

For the sheer joy captured, we loved Ian Jones' photograph of a dog enjoying the banks of Loch Duich in the Scottish Highlands.

We also couldn't resist including a pair of snaps showcasing Shez Honour's favourite places to take pictures - sunrise and surrounded by trees.

There were also plenty of urban spots submitted, with Darrell Godliman's image of the Louvre in Paris one of the best examples.

The modern glass addition to the museum looks spectacular lit up at night.

Another snap we enjoyed was Bob Sherlock's black and white image of a New York skyscraper.

Others members, meanwhile, favoured places a little closer to home. Becca Collacott shared the view of Abingdon's Market Place from inside her favourite coffee shop Java and Co.

Places in Oxford also featured in many submissions, with the Radcliffe Camera captured by Steve Clarke and the Covered Market decorated for the Christmas period by Jean Douglas.

We particularly enjoyed the unusual perspective on South Park in Michael Hooper's shot of the green space refracted through a crystal ball.

Finally, Vanessa Andreassa’s submitted a snap of her family in London, explaining her favourite place is anywhere her loved ones are.

Next week's theme is people.
