YOUNGSTERS swimming in their pyjamas have raised almost £1,500 for Oxford Hospitals Charity.

Puddle Ducks, an Oxfordshire-based baby and children swim school hosts a PJ Week each year, where children raise money for a local cause by learning water safety dressed in their favourite pyjamas.

Beccy Stenson, owner of Puddle Ducks Oxfordshire, said: “We decided to choose Oxford Hospitals Charity as earlier in the year our teacher, Tash, was devastated when she found out that her three-month-old baby, Hudson, was diagnosed with meningitis.

"This was an extremely difficult time for her and her family but with the amazing care offered by the John Radcliffe Children’s Hospital, Hudson made a full recovery.”

Money raised from last month's event will go to the charity’s general fund to help with research, training and buying new facilities and equipment, such as a meningitis scanner and new monitoring systems at the Children’s Hospital in Oxford.
