AMAZING creations will sit among the grapes in an Oxfordshire vineyard for a two week festival of art.

Sculpture in the Vineyard kicks off today at Bothy Vineyard, in Frilford Heath, near Abingdon.

The event will feature an impressive line up of indoor and outdoor sculptures brought together by curator Dawn Benson, and is being combined with weekend art courses, talks and performances.

More than 200 pieces by 50 different artists, in a wide variety of materials and styles, will be on display and for sale.

Among them are several artists who have been in the limelight recently such as Royal Horticultural Society award winner Simon Probyn with his stylised metallic pieces, and Martin Hayward Harris whose fluid work captures iconic subject from nature, and has received numerous awards for his work. His Blue Whale model is currently on display in the Natural History Museum.

The festival will run until September 23, with an art trail for children, a self-guided tour of the vineyard, food and other refreshments also available.

Gates will be open from 10am to 6pm, and the cost of entry, which includes a programme, is £2.50. Child entry is free.
