A SECOND person has died in a two-car crash on the A420 at the weekend, police have confirmed.

The news comes after a passenger in one of the vehicles died at the scene on Sunday.

Police are reappealing for witnesses to the collision between a grey Peugeot 3008 and a silver Skoda Octavia in the village of Tubney.

It is the second fatal crash in the same spot in the space of less than two months, after a 51-year-old woman died in a collision with a lorry on March 22.

Sunday's collision happened at about 2.50pm on the A420.

A passenger in the Peugeot, a woman in her 70s from Swindon, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Both the driver of the Peugeot and the Skoda were taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

The driver of the Skoda Octavia, also a woman in her seventies, has since died.

Next of kin have been informed.

The Roads Policing Unit based at Abingdon are continuing to appeal for witnessed to this collision and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was driving on the A420 on Sunday, May 6 at 2.50pm who has a dash cam.
