A stolen hatchback car crashed into a traffic camera before being found on fire nearly 20 miles away.
Police said that between 10.50pm and 11.30pm on Saturday, September 26, burglars broke into a home in School Lane, Stoke Lyne near Ardley and stole the keys to a red Ford Focus Titanium.
The thieves fled in the car, but it was spotted crashing into an Automatic Number Plate Recognition Camera (ANPR) at 11.36pm.
The car was eventually found just after midnight set ablaze nearly 20 miles away from where it was stolen, on the A4141 eastern bypass in Oxford, near Risinghurst.
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the red Ford Focus being driven erratically.
Detective Constable Ian Bailey said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have heard or seen suspicious behaviour in the area at this time, or seen this vehicle driving erratically to please get in contact."
