A most handsome, detached, Grade II Listed, former gatehouse of Bletchingdon Park, steeped in local history and comprehensively renovated to celebrate its wonderful character.

Parkgate House, is a striking period house built from Cotswold stone and arranged in a T plan with prominent front and rear wings, over three floors. Set on a peaceful village lane and set in wonderful gardens with mature parkland as its back drop the house enjoys an abundance of character and grandeur with high ceilings, exposed timberwork and magnificent fireplaces. The entrance hall is adorned with a stone floor, and an open well staircase with turned balusters, that reaches through the floors to the top of the house. The kitchen lies just off the entrance hall with an Aga set in an original hearth with a limestone mantel and a range of bespoke units under a wood worktop. Beyond the kitchen is a versatile reception room with doors leading to the front garden, it is currently used as a sitting room. Off the kitchen there is also a utility room and pantry. There is a cellar space accessed by steps from a door in the dining room.

The beautiful original wood staircase leads to the first floor, which comprises three bedrooms, a shower room and separate WC. All three bedrooms have large windows and ample fitted storage. On the second floor there are three further good sized bedrooms all with characterful exposed beams that do not affect the head height of the room. The family bathroom has a bath and separate shower.

The house sits in half an acre and is accessed off Weston Road. There is parking for several cars on the driveway as well as a garage.

The garden is well established with separate areas of lawn and seating area and is bordered by a newly constructed Cotswold Stone wall. There are several stone outbuildings, providing useful storage space. To the side of the house, Church Walk provides access to a footpath for walks on the Bletchingdon Park Estate.
