FOUR boys went to school dressed in skirts in protest of their school's 'no shorts' policy.

The Year 10 pupils, who attend Bicester Technology Studio, turned up for class on Monday wearing skirts as they felt it was unfair that girls are allowed to wear skirts when the weather is hot.

Principle Roland Howard said he was unaware that the boys had a problem with the 'no shorts' rule.

He said: "Nobody asked me whether they wanted to wear shorts, but if they had it wouldn't have been a problem. It makes sense to allow them to wear shorts in this weather - it's sweltering."

The school will be discussing whether to allow shorts in the summer going forward but it won’t be a snap decision.

The boys were reminded to talk to the head first if they have any issues going forward.
