The Council has set the following amounts for the period 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2019

CHERWELL DISTRICT COUNCIL
COUNCIL TAX DISCOUNTS 2018-2019 FOR SECOND HOMES AND UNOCCUPIED PROPERTIES
In accordance with Section 11A of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (as amended) notice is hereby given that for financial years commencing on or after
1 April 2018 until further notice the following council tax discounts will apply to classes of dwellings set out in the Council Tax (Prescribed Classes of Dwellings)
(England) (Amendment) Regulations 2012.
• Classes A and B (furnished chargeable dwellings that are not the sole or main residence of an individual) – zero per cent discount
• Class C (unoccupied and substantially unfurnished dwellings) – 25 per cent discount for up to six months and zero per cent discount thereafter
• Class D (unoccupied and unfurnished dwellings requiring or undergoing major repair) – 25 per cent discount for up to twelve months and zero per cent discount
thereafter
• No council tax discount shall be applied to dwellings that are unoccupied and substantially unfurnished for more than two years and that the council tax payable
on such properties is increased from 100% to 150% (except for those properties which fall into prescribed Classes E (member of armed services) and F (annexes)).
