AFTER all the celebrations over the new train service from Bicester to London, the reality is less appealing.

An excellent service from one station seems to have been replaced with a mediocre service from two – which is not the same thing at all!

For example, in mid-morning, having to wait an hour at Marylebone for the next train to Bicester North, and the overcrowded commuter trains to London at peak times.

Yes, there are more trains to and from Bicester but, if your car is parked at one station, the other is not an alternative.

I know Jeremy Corbyn wants to renationalise the railways, but does Chiltern have to lead the way back to British Rail standards?
