Sir – During a General Election episode of BBC’s Question Time David Dimbleby asked David Cameron: “There are some people worried about you cutting child tax credits. Are you saying absolutely as a guarantee you’d never have it?”
Mr Cameron responded: “First of all child tax credit we increased by £450...” Dimbleby interjected: “And it’s not going to fall?” to which the PM replied: “It’s not going to fall.”
Last week, the hollowness of this promise was exposed when the Government cut child tax credits for millions of working people on low incomes. Bicester’s Member of Parliament Victoria Prentis voted with Government.
Perhaps she might like to explain to the people of Bicester, why they should ever trust her or the PM again?
