SIR – Battlefield Memorial Tours are a voluntary and charitable supporting organisation who run a few escorted tours annually to famous areas of interest related to both World Wars.

We can also take travellers to visit personal military graves during trips. In September, (from 16 to 21) we are running our annual trip to the beautiful Dutch areas around Arnhem to take in the weekend commemorations. We still have some places left.

Weather permitting there will be parachute displays, vintage military vehicle parades, museums, as well as the annual service that features the well known laying of flowers by local children.

The tour also covers the crossing of the Rhine near Rees and the recently-unveiled Dambuster memorial to one of the crews who crashed in the area. We will visit Guy Gibson’s grave at Steenbergen and spend the afternoon at the recently-opened National Dutch Aviation Museum at Soesterberg. We also visit Rheinberg and Reichswald Military Cemeteries in Germany.

The total cost of the six-day, five-night tour is £499, including breakfast /evening meals and hotel costs based upon two persons sharing. Pick-ups are from Walsall via the M6 to Birmingham International Railway Station to Shirley and then down the M1 to the Channel Tunnel.
