Sir – David Jones was on the right track re grass cutting (Letters, June 18). If everyone is so proud of their environment why don’t they start helping themselves by doing a bit of rubbish clearing.
There is other mess beside dog mess lying around everywhere. We shouldn’t rely on the council every time to pitch in if there is something amiss with our environment.
I am sure that the £12,000 that it cost for cutting a bit of grass could have been much better spent and it is a pity that something as cosmetic as grass cutting gets such a substantial sum when the whole of Bicester seems to be sinking in a sea of rubbish.
While I know dog mess is a nuisance, so is other people’s rubbish.
