Sir – Reference the name of the railway station. In the Bicester Advertiser on Thursday, March 12, Chiltern Railways stated that 49 per cent of residents stated they were in favour of changing the station name to Bicester Village. How many residents were involved in this independent poll? I haven’t heard of one resident who agrees with the name.
Why should Chiltern Railways have the power to name the new station, do any of their executives actually live in Bicester?
What happened to democracy, I would have thought that all the people of Bicester should be given the opportunity to vote on this subject, at least that way we, the ordinary people of Bicester, would feel that we have had at least some say in one of the many changes happening to us.
