Thank you for giving up your time for a fabulous celebration
SIR, I am writing to thank Janet Ray, her friends and some local councillors who gave up their time and their own domestic celebrations once again to provide an excellent dinner – three generous courses with turkey, etc – for a group of “golden oldies” (like me), on Christmas Day, in Weyland Hall. The quiz went down well too!
I found myself seated next to Lily (93) and George (97), who married in 1940. They were a lively and loving couple, so they had a good few stories to tell.
