SIR, I visited Bicester post office on January 6 to return a parcel. On entering I found the queue of waiting customers almost at the shop entrance.

Having previously visited at the end of November 2013 and queuing for 30 minutes, I estimated my waiting time to be at least an hour and promptly left.

As the people of Bicester will know, the shop that has the franchise has recently moved to smaller premises and whereas the previous shop had eight counters, this one only has three, and the majority of the time only two are in operation.

With the population of Bicester at present almost 30,000 and predicted to rise 28 per cent by 2016 (according to the Local Enterprise Partnership’s website), it’s about time Bicester once again had a dedicated post office which is staffed to meet the demand.

Royal Mail charges enough for its service (60p for first class post), so Royal Mail should provide us with a first class service in Bicester.

If enough people complain to Royal Mail maybe they will do something.

Make a complaint on: royalmail.com If you do not have a computer, ask the member of staff who serves you how to make a complaint.
