SIR, About ten months ago, this paper reported that the retrospective planning permission for the alterations to the frontage of Lloyds the chemist, formerly the White Lion public house, had been refused on the grounds it was not in character with the surrounding Sheep Street conservation area.
As it appears no action has been taken to restore the frontage to something more in-keeping with the original, may I, through your column, ask the planning authorities: “Have the vandals been victorious yet again?”
