RUNNING a marathon, in fact any charity fundraiser, is an incredible achievement full stop.

But to take that one step, of thousands more, further and do 44 events in one year is an amazing and honourable feat.

Bicester computer whizz Will Ash has taken on the role of ‘weekend warrior’ and spent most weekends this year tackling gruelling running, climbing and obstacle events to raise money for Anthony Nolan.

not only is the 23-year-old taking on the impressive challenge to raise money and awareness of the charity.

But also as a nod to the memory of close friend Alice Byron, who passed away from a rare form of blood cancer in July 2016.

Miss Byron was too an impressive and inspirational campaigner who raised more than £20,000 for Anthony Nolan during her short fight with cancer.

Mr Ash marked event number 40 with the Oxford Half Marathon and hopes to follow closely in Alice’s footsteps to raise a target of £10,000 for the charity by his final event at number 44.

It is a very inspiring challenge for Mr Ash to take on and a great way for both Mr Ash and his friends and family to honour Miss Bryon and continue her great work with the charity.

After getting 40 fundraising events under his belt Mr Ash has been helped along by his parents, siblings and friends supporting him through side-line support, as well as many friends taking to the streets to troop through many marathons alongside Mr Ash.

The entire charity challenge may have been Mr Ash’s idea and his personal pledge to continue Miss Byron’s charity support.

But it has well and truly been a team effort along the way with scores of people helping and supporting every step.

So far, Mr Ash has raised more than £4,000 and has a target of bumping that up to £10,000 by the final big finale at the Las Vegas Marathon.

There is just one month to go until Mr Ash will mark his 44th event this year, to donate to his fundraising page see williamash.co.uk
