A second person has died in hospital following a three-vehicle crash in which six other people were seriously injured.

Lincolnshire Police said a 16-year-old boy, from Lincoln, died at Hull Royal Infirmary last night after being injured on the A1104 at Saleby, near Alford.

A 70-year-old woman from Mablethorpe died following the accident at about 4.30pm on Good Friday.

A Vauxhall Corsa, a Ford C-Max and a Mercedes van were involved in the collision on Snape Hill.

The 16-year-old victim is known to have been a passenger in the Corsa, while the other fatally injured casualty was a front seat passenger in the Ford.

Six other people, believed to be from Lincoln, Mablethorpe and Birmingham, are still being treated for injuries at hospitals in Hull, Grimsby, Boston and Nottingham.
