WILL Anns was a treble winner at Bicester’s end of season awards night.

The north Oxfordshire side suffered relegation in their first season in a physical South West 1 East league.

But among their star performers was hooker Anns, who scooped the player of the year and coach’s player of the year prizes, as well as a press officer accolade.

Clubman of the year went to George Upton.

Jake Sawyer and Matt Fowler won the players’ player and captain’s player awards respectively for the 2nd XV.

Bicester’s third team handed out three accolades, with Kyle Barrett the receiving the most improved player prize.

Stuart John collected the players’ player honour and Mark Malin player of the year.

Press officer awards were also given to Sawyer, Charlie Bethell and Wes Westaway, while Dan Spencer, Chris Nash and Malins received caps for playing more than 100 games for the club.

Bicester Vixens also joined the celebrations, with Charlie Fletcher-Smith named coach’s and captain’s player. Kathleen Davis scooped the players’ player accolade.

Vixens are in action this weekend when they host Banbury in a friendly.

Meanwhile, Bicester teamed up with Oxford Harlequins to beat a combined Wallingford, Didcot and Gosford All Blacks side at Henley in the Oxfordshire Vets County Plate final.

The club’s annual general meeting is on Wednesday, May 16, at 7pm.

BICESTER Under 15s scored a last-minute try to beat Wallingford 17-14 and win the Oxfordshire Invitational Cup.

A Jacob Adams penalty put Bicester ahead and he converted Josh Fewcett’s try to make it 10-0.

Wallingford hit back with a converted score and they made it 14-10 in the second half.

But with a minute to play, Ethan Baughan proved to be Bicester’s hero when he forced his way over the line and Adams added the extras.
