Oxford University are still looking for their first home win of the campaign following a 24-14 defeat to Gloucester United at Iffley Road.
Alex Hogg and Dan Barley went over for the Dark Blues, both converted by Basil Strang, as the sides were locked at 14-14 after 43 minutes.
But the Aviva A League side earned victory with a converted score and late penalty.
With four weeks remaining until the Varsity Match on December 8, the Dark Blues have three warm-up games still to play.
They next host Major Stanley’s XV on November 16.
