MATT Williams has called on leaders Chinnor to make Kingsey Road a fortress ahead of their top-of-the-table clash with Old Elthamians tomorrow.

Both sides hold 100 per cent records in National League 2 South after nine games, with the Oxfordshire outfit a point ahead in the table.

Director of rugby Williams does not believe tomorrow’s result will prove decisive in the league’s final standings.

But he is urging his side to extend their winning home record, which stands at ten matches since February 13.

“Whoever comes through this week will obviously be top of the pile but it is more than that, it is about records,” he said.

“For us it is about fortress Chinnor and not losing at home.

“We want teams to be frightened to come here.”

Williams makes two changes in the backs, with Bertie Hopkin starting at fly half and centre Danny Barnes recovering from a knee injury.

In the pack, Jon Phipps and Jay Tyack return to the front row, while Alex Waddingham comes in at open-side flanker.

Henley Hawks bid to bounce back from last week’s 51-17 loss at Canterbury when they host Clifton.

In South West 1 East, Oxford Harlequins are boosted by the return of captain Allan Purchase ahead of their trip to bottom side Chippenham.

The skipper, who had been out with a shoulder injury, starts at lock, while prop Pete Boulton is at tight-head, with Ollie Barlow switching to loose-head.

In the backs, Guy Fairburn comes in at scrum half.

Grove host second-placed Old Patesians, Banbury entertain Reading and Witney welcome Newbury Blues to Hailey Road.

Wheatley host Oxford in the BB&O Championship with Jack Taylor, Jack Atkinson and Dan Bland all back in contention for a place in the starting XV.

Veteran second row Nick Banton will undergo a late fitness test.
