BEVON Armitage is confident he can achieve big things with Chinnor after signing for the National League 2 South side.

Armitage, the elder brother of England stars Delon and Steffon, as well as Wasps centre Guy, joins the Oxfordshire outfit after being released by Doncaster Knights.

The veteran centre, 33, has more than 200 Greene King IPA Championship appearances to his name, but is eager to still enjoy success.

He said: “As I enter the latter stages of my career the opportunity to pass on the experiences I have gained as a ten-year professional excites me.

“That said, I still want to achieve things within my rugby and I believe I can do this with Chinnor.

“I only have one playing level and that is full out.”

Armitage adds to the club’s experience in the backs, with former Bristol centre Junior Fatialofa still a regular.

Director of rugby Matt Williams said: “I am really excited to have secured Bev’s services.

“I have been keen to sign another leader who can help boss midfield.

“Bev is a serious guy and will massively add to the professionalism of what we are trying to achieve, as well as scare a few defences.”
