OXFORD Harlequins marked their first match at Marston Ferry Road in seven years with a 24-19 victory over Salisbury in South West 1 East.

Quins’ Adam Neal drove over and Huw Dimond converted, before adding a penalty for 10-0 at half-time.

They extended their lead when Axel Poulet crossed and Dimond added the extras.

However, Salisbury hit back when Rob Larcombe scored and Tom Pottage converted.

Sam Watkinson then ran in from 35 metres for Quins and Dimond continued his fine form with the boot for 24-7.

Luke Esnouf and David Tonge went over for the visitors, Pottage converting the latter, but Quins held on for their first points of the season.

Matt Clarke scored 24 points as Witney beat Windsor 39-17.

Clarke converted his own try for 7-0, before the hosts levelled through Jack Gaylor, who also kicked the extras.

Witney led 10-7 at half-time, thanks to a Clarke penalty.

After the break, Jack Williams went over for an unconverted try for the hosts.

But Clarke once again touched down and converted his own try for 17-12, before Windsor levelled the scores as Williams dotted down.

Clarke kicked a penalty for 20-17, before Jed Whitehouse scored a brilliant solo try, which Clarke converted.

James Monks then went over twice, the latter converted by Clarke.

Grove were beaten 29-15 at Towcestrians.

Brendon White and Cash Chilvers went over for Grove, while Mike Martin kicked a conversion and a penalty.
