Chinnor prop Ian Stock has received a whopping six-game ban and centre Jack Hayes has been suspended for three games following the battle of Worthing.

The pair, who were sent off for throwing punches in a mass brawl during the 36-14 defeat at Raiders in National 2 South last Saturday, have been punished by the Rugby Football Union.

Worthing’s Liam Perkins also saw red in the same incident, and was banned for four games.

With hooker Locryn Will-iams and second row David McKee sidelined by concussion after suffering blows in separate incidents, director of rugby Matt Williams has bolstered his squad.

He has brought in hooker Dean Brooker and flanker Matt Bolwell on loan from Cornish Pirates for the clash with Lydney at Kingsey Road tomorrow (2.30).

Williams said: “I am disappointed with my boys’ discipline. I have spoken to them about that and they are genuinely remorseful. One blip ruined a high-quality game.

“The incident was caused by the unnecessary action of a Worthing player and I am disappointed that my players reacted as they did because we have ended up with the bigger problem, and we lost the game.

“I have had to bring some quality loan players in this week because as a squad we are stretched now with these injuries and suspensions.”

Hayes’ place is taken by Ed Keohane, while Andy Tibbatts switches to lock forward from the back row.

Now Williams is looking for his side to rally after last week’s almighty fracas. “Of course that was the turning point in the game and what we have now got to do is bounce back, and anything short of a five-point win on Saturday will be disappointing,” he added.

Centre Ed Yarnton returns from injury as leaders Henley take on Launceston in at Dry Leas (3).

Ralph Jones returns at scrum half as Oxford Harlequins travel to face high-riding Hornets at Weston-super-Mare in National 3 South West (2.15).

Ethan Carlisle switches to fly half and Jack Avery moves to full back for the unavailable Jack Robinson.

Ollie Barlow comes in at loose head prop with Nick Marshall unavailable.

USA Under 20 sevens fly half Jona Cali makes his debut for Grove at home to bottom club Bletchley in South West 1 East.

Flanker Dave Wells returns after a month off through injury for the clash against opponents who had lost their first 15 games before last week’s 22-15 victory over Devizes.
