Ardley United moved up to eighth in the Premier Division with a 2-1 win at Binfield on Monday night.

Goals from Ricky Johnson and Luke Ingram sealed a first double of the season for Kevin Brock’s side.

The visitors took the lead on nine minutes when Chris Jackson headed a corner back across goal and Johnson’s deflected shot found the net.

However, Binfield levelled a few minutes later Adam Cornell headed past Jack Harding in the Ardley goal.

The visitors restored their lead on 18 minutes when Ingram flicked in a Callum Convey cross at the near post.

After the break, it was Binfield who looked more likely to add to their tally.

And ten minutes from time, Harding saved a Jemel Johnson shot before the follow-up was blocked by a defender.

On Saturday, an Ingram double earned Ardley a 2-1 win at Cheltenham Saracens in the first round of the Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup.

The visitors trailed to Jordan Bryant’s 37th-minute goal.

And Brock’s side had a let-off when Stuart Davies blasted a penalty over the bar after Bryant was fouled in the area.

Ardley levelled on 52 minutes when a long throw from Adam Beckett was headed down by Chris Jackson and Ingram hooked in from 15 yards.

Ardley had a chance to take the lead when Ollie Stanbridge was brought down in the area.

However, Johnson saw Tom Lennox save his penalty.

Extra-time was looming, but with three minutes Johnson headed a corner back across goal for Ingram to net the winner.

This Saturday, Ardley host Newbury in the league.
