MATT Williams has urged Chinnor to secure victory for lock Josh Kroman when they visit Launceston in National 2 South tomorrow.

Kroman was rushed into Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital on Tuesday with a heart condition and was recovering there yesterday.

He will be out for several weeks, with Dave McKee taking his place in the side for the trip to Cornwall.

“We wish Josh a speedy recovery,” said head coach Williams.

“We want to go down to Launceston to get a result for him.”

Williams was delighted with the display that saw Chinnor beat Southend 42-21 last week to end a run of four straight defeats and called for more of the same at the Cornish All Blacks.

“The first 40 minutes were the best we have played this season,” said Williams.

“We connected like I have been waiting for it to connect.

“We were just destructive and blew them apart.

“I was very proud of the team performance.

“It was a big step in the right direction.

“We now need to take that form on the road this week.”

McKee is the only change to the side, but scrum half Reece Boughton is back on the bench after recovering from a groin injury.

Williams also praised the form of No 8 Alfie To’oala, who returned from suspension against Southend.

“It was fantastic to have Alfie back in the side.

“I made him captain and he stepped up to the responsibility and led from the front.

“He was frightening.”

Meanwhile, lock Daz Oliver, full back Jake Olley, wing Jaryd Robinson and prop Simone Carloni are all due to return to training next Tuesday after injury lay-offs.

Hooker Nathan Taylor replaces Stuart Philpott (unavailable) as leaders Henley Hawks visit Clifton.

Dave Manning comes in for Tom West at loosehead prop, while Matt Payne reverts to lock with Will Woodward dropping to the bench.

Flanker Ryan Newman and No 8 Robbie Stapley return to the starting line-up.

Ed Yarnton moves to full back and Freddie Pierrepoint slots in at centre as both Tom Allen and Simon Perry have hamstring injuries.

Wing Lloyd Owen has a groin injury, so Conor Corrigan replaces him.

Centre Jake Randall, who joins from Llanelli Scarlets Academy, should make his debut off the bench.

Clifton are expected to include former Henley centre Danny Wells, who is their top scorer with three tries.
