JACK Robinson scored his second successive hat-trick as Oxford Harlequins outgunned Witney 25-0 in their Oxfordshire derby at the Southern Bypass Ground.

The wing, known as Flash, raced over three times in the first half, but it was Quins’ forwards who laid the foundations for victory.

Quins will now end the year with an eight-point lead, while Witney are just five points above the relegation zone.

Blustery conditions made kicking difficult, with all the hosts’ points coming from tries.

No 8 Jackson Achilles fed skipper Luke Brown to bag the opening try on 12 minutes.

Robinson sped over to finish off a flowing move for his first and his second soon followed suit from a similar source.

Witney had flanker Carl Campbell sin-binned on 35 minutes and trailed 20-0 at half-time when Quins’ backs and forwards combined to send Robinson flying in from 30 metres.

Quins had to work had to repel Witney in a tighter second half.

Home fly half Zac Norris was yellow-carded on 56 minutes, with Witney flanker Stuart Catherall later suffering the same fate.

Grove ended 2013 on a high with a 38-12 home victory over Towcestrians.

The hosts, who climbed to seventh, led 24-12 at half-time, despite playing into the teeth of the wind.

Hooker Steve Dixey, debutant scrum half Joe Chivers, centre Tom Clipsham and prop James Eckert all went over for Grove before the break, with full back Roger Sevier converting two.

Grove fly half Dave Johnson and a Towcestrians replacement were yellow-carded.

The visitors’ points came via two tries and a conversion.

Grove had Joe Bellinger sin-binned for a late tackle, but a try from wing Harry Carr and three Sevier penalties sealed the win.

Towcestrians’ full back was sent off after having his yellow card upgraded to red for abusing the referee.
