RUGBY: Morris switches codes to sign for Oxford RL
10:00am Tuesday 19th March 2013 in Rugby
Sean Morris
Oxford University RFC wing Sean Morris has switched codes after signing for Oxford RL.
The 23-year-old has played for Saracens, Barking and London Scottish as well as representing England Under 18s, England Students, GB Uni 7s and Oxbridge in the 15-man game.
But now he is to try his hand at the 13-man version.
Morris said: “It is certainly exciting to be part of something new and dynamic, Oxford RL is this in many ways.
“As a club, and more broadly as a sport, it enters new pastures in Oxford.
“As an individual, rugby league is completely new to me. I look forward to the challenge of being part of such a promising venture and the personal challenge of changing codes for the summer.
“It is also great to be based at Iffley Road, it has become somewhat of a second home for me, being with OURFC since 2008.”
Oxford coach Tony Benson added: “Sean was recommended to me by the university.
“He has really stood out in training so far, is really strong and very skilful and I am looking forward to seeing him in action.”
