RUGBY UNION: Bellinger stars in Grove hammering

JOE Bellinger’s four tries led leaders Grove to a 59-3 demolition of Alchester at Cane Lane.

Full back Roger Sevier kicked Grove ahead with a penalty, but Alchester’s Tom Miles levelled in kind after debutant flanker was sin-binned for the hosts.

Another Sevier penalty regained the lead before centre Bellinger (2) and scrum half Ben Nicholl added tries, Sevier converting one.

Bellinger completed his hat-trick after the break, Sevier converting for 30-3, while Alchester prop Sean Cooke was yellow-carded.

Wells bagged a try, converted by Sevier, while Alchester’s Tom Iles and Andy Blacklock were also sin-binned.

Bellinger, Jamie Burns, Guy Nicholl and Harry Carr addded further tries, with Sevier converting one, while Grove fly half Dave Maryon was yellow-carded.
