THERE was a big Oxfordshire flavour to the Wasps side that lost 34-8 at Leicester in the LV= Cup on Saturday.

Oxford University pair Stuart Commins and Will Rowlands started at scrum half and lock respectively, while Dark Blues flanker James Harris came off the bench.

Former Chinnor back-row forward Sam Jones captained the side from No 8, with Jonah Holmes, who has appeared for London Welsh and Henley this season, on the wing.

Also among the replacements were academy players lock Dave Hughes and fly half Will Robinson, who are on loan at Chinnor and Henley respectively.

• OXFORD University Greyhounds will now host Wallingford in their Oxfordshire Cup semi-final on Tuesday, February 26, kick-off 8pm.
